RENO — On Tuesday, a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper arrested 45-year-old Chris Copen of Reno for driving under the influence of drugs. Copen, while driving a red 2007 Honda Civic, entered U.S. 395 using the southbound North McCarran Boulevard onramp.

Among other hazardous moving traffic violations, he crossed over the gore and passed the trooper while driving in excess of 80 mph.

During the traffic stop, the trooper observed signs of drug intoxication. After a field sobriety test, Copen was placed under arrest. He was booked at the Washoe County jail for DUI drugs, reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance and being a resident driving with a nonresident driver license.
