World-renowned art auction makes annual appearance in Reno

RENO - The largest auction house in the country specializing in Western and sporting paintings is back in Reno for the annual Coeur d’Alene Art Auction. Since 2000, this world-renowned event has been predominantly featured in Forbes Magazine, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, bringing art buyers from around the globe into the Northern Nevada marketplace.

The Coeur d’Alene Art Auction will be held today from 12 to 6 p.m. at the Silver Legacy Resort Grande Exposition Hall. The auction catalog costs $60, which includes the price of admission for two.

Fetching more than $200 million throughout the last 10 years, the Coeur d’Alene Art Auction is the premiere choice of museums, corporations and well-known private collectors. With a sales rate of more than 95 percent, the auction set a record with $39 million dollars in bids in 2008.
