Pyrata is known for an ongoing installation of art, comprised of paintings on canvas, which are left in public spaces for members of the public to find and take home. Works of the artist have been found in various locales around the world in recent months. The exhibition will cover some of the artist’s travels around the world, showcasing atmospheric conditions that tie all of humanity together and celebrate a global vision. The exhibition is titled: “If Reno Will Not Go to the World, the World Will Come to Reno.” It will be located in Room 10 of the El Ray Motel, 330 Arlington Avenue, Reno (between 3rd and 4th streets). Hours for the exhibit are: Thursday, 12 noon till closing; Friday 6:00 pm till closing; and Saturday 4:00 pm till closing. Exhibition space will be shared with another local artist. “Since this is on my own terms, and my own turf, I may decide to show up at some point”, Pyrata stated in a recent discussion about the event. “But I am definitely not the attraction and I look terrible even with makeup. The work, the message and the vision is what I want people to see and talk about. The reason there is so much violence in the world is because people no longer sing to their children and they no longer show them the beauty of their own landscape.” A representative of the artist will be present to discuss the works and the development of Pyrata as an artist, with members of the public. Admission is free and the artist especially invites children of all ages to attend as the exhibit is “child friendly”. Nada Dada Motel is an event founded by local Reno artists, for artists, and run by artists. Pyrata does not represent Nada Dada Motel, and is simply a participant.
